You will have your Master Works!

Good morning my fellow DA nerds!

For some time now, staff has tried to abide by a mantra, and that mantra is Fun Before Idealist Visions of the Game. Now, with that being said, there are moments (and some times those moments last entirely too long) where staff begins to forget this very important quote, and it's never intentional, but know that we realize this and actively work to improve the environment in various ways every day.

It's equally important for our players to remember that Magnus and Valman do have a very long list of Quality of Life improvements, and that when concerns are brought to the table, they are discussed, and measured, and a resolution is found - that resolution is then added to our stockpile of ever growing tasks. Now, here is where you guys really come in. When there are enough voices added to the request, that task is then moved up the list of priorities, so PLEASE talk to us. Myself and Darius are both Player Relations staff for a reason, and our job is to ensure your concerns are heard and that changes are made when warranted.

Now onto the meat and potatoes of this announcement. We will be altering how crafting works in terms of churning out your precious Master Works. Those of you that recall the old .craftcare system will be familiar, but for those of you that don't, here is the low down on the changes that are happening.

  • When a player wants to craft a Master Work item, the player will simply type .craftcare (You must be specialized in the craft you're utilizing for it to work)
  • When using .craftcare the chance of crafting a MW is increased to 20% but will cost double materials for every attempt until you succeed
  • Upon successfully crafting a Masterwork, a timer will become active that will not allow the crafter to use .craftcare again for a period of 72 hours so as not to completely flood the market with MW's.

I've spoken with Valman at length about this, and he has said the system will be fully implemented if not by this weekend, then early next week. If anyone has any questions, please come to myself (Sulia) or Darius. This is the first of many Quality of Life fixes that we will be implementing fairly quickly.
